Every decision, even the smallest one, has an impact on ourselves and our lives. It is a question of going left or right and the approach towards life in general. Whether that fragile glass is half full or half empty is just a matter of how you see it. Where a decision leads to is uncertain… deciding to have a drink and holding on to that golden straw can lead to comedy – or tragedy.
These works are reflecting this thin line between here and there, finding the balance in life, exhilaration or despair, between robbing the piggy bank or saving it for an uncertain tomorrow.
Leni Michl (b. 1983, Austria) creates joyful, humorous, and sometimes deadly serious collages, photographs, sculptures, and installations that reveal our society’s desires, fears, and obsessions, through a vivid and eye catching visual language that refers to advertising and graphic design.
